Fox News Anchor Points Out Silver Lining for Trump After He Complains About Network’s Latest Poll
Fox News’ Bill Hemmer pointed out on Thursday that Donald Trump could win the White House even if a new poll from the network suggesting that President Joe Biden holds a national lead over Trump is correct.
The segment began with Hemmer’s co-anchor Sandra Smith asking Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders for her reaction to the survey in question, which showed Biden with a 50%-48% advantage over the presumptive Republican nominee.
“You know, I don’t actually put a lot of stock into national polls. I think the place that really matters is the issues that are driving voters, and they’ll ultimately pick their candidate of choice on. And when you look at both battleground polls and issues that drive voters, the economy, the border, national security, Trump is dominating in all of those. I still think this is his race,” replied Sanders.
That’s when Hemmer jumped in to make his point.
“I’m looking at this and both sides can make an argument, but I think it’s probably the first decent poll that Joe Biden has gotten in some time, and maybe it holds and maybe it doesn’t, but your point is well taken on the issues and also the battleground states,” he said. “As we pointed out last hour, Donald Trump lost the national vote against Hillary Clinton by two points, but won the race. In 2020, he lost to Joe Biden by four points and lost the election.”
Trump was frustrated by the release of the Fox poll and lodged a public complaint about it on Truth Social Thursday morning.
“FoxNews Polls are always the worst for me,” wrote Trump. “They have been from the beginning, and always will be!”
Coincidentally, Trump also attacked Fox just a few hours before the poll results were made public on Wednesday.
“Nobody can ever trust Fox News,” he declared inveighing against board member Paul Ryan. “Rupert and Lachlan, get that dog off your Board,”
