WATCH: Earthquake Rattles Set of Fox’s Stuart Varney While Live on Air

The 4.8 magnitude earthquake that rattled the Northeast Friday could be seen shaking the Fox Business Network’s set as Stuart Varney was live on the air.

Bill Hemmer and Dana Perino with Fox’s America’s Newsroom showed the earthquake’s effects that were captured on video.

“So, we are on the 12th floor in midtown Manhattan. Our colleague at Fox Business, Stuart Varney, does a show when we do a show, and he’s on the ground level. When this happened, you and I did not feel it,” Hemmer said to Perino.”Some folks there did. Jack Keane was on the air, and this is what happened.”

The video showed Varney wrapping up his interview with retired General Jack Keane and transitioning to his next story as clearly visible shaking can be seen rocking the studio.

“OK, That’s pretty obvious, I would say!” Hemmer said. “I don’t know if it lasted very long — it did not appear to be from the clip. Maybe just a few seconds of rattling down there.”

Perino was impressed that Varney carried on as if nothing was happening.

“And perfect ‘stiff British upper lip’ manners,” Smith said. “Stuart Varney was not rattled in any way, he just continued on.”

The quake happened at 10:23 a.m. with an epicenter in Lebanon, New Jersey. The U.S. Geological Survey first declared the quake to be 4.8 in magnitude before revising it to 4.7, then reverting back to 4.8.

CNN reported, “The light quake was shallow, just below the surface at 5 km depth, which made it easier for residents in affected areas to feel the shaking. Initial reports indicate shaking was widely felt in New York City, Philadelphia and Washington, DC.”

Officials warned that aftershocks could rattle the Northeast throughout the day.
