CNN’s Scott Jennings Shut Down After He Brings Up Assault Allegations Against Doug Emhoff in Heated Panel Debate
A CNN panel quickly shut down political commentator Scott Jennings for bringing up allegations against Doug Emhoff regarding an alleged assault in 2012.
The panel hosted by CNN anchor Abby Phillip were discussing rapper Eminem’s criticism of former President Donald Trump during a Detroit rally earlier this week with former President Barack Obama.
Jennings attacked Eminem for allegedly promoting domestic violence and derogatory phrases about women in his rap songs. The Republican commentator then shifted his attacks to the second gentleman by bringing up allegations published by the Daily Mail earlier this month that struck his then-girlfriend in public in 2012. The Harris campaign and Emhoff have denied the report.
“When you think about the things he has said in order to sell those records, and you also consider some of the questions that are swirling around Harris his own husband in this regard,” said Jennings as the panel exploded in outrage.
CNN’s Bakari Sellers interjected by stating, “Oh my God! OK, you don’t even get 12 seconds. I’m not gonna let you go into the far end of B.S…I can’t represent you in the defamation case, Scott.”
Phillips then ended the segment by noting that Trump has been found liable for sexual assault by a New York jury before moving towards the commercial break. ‘
“We’re gonna stop here for a second,” the host said. “Alright, but Scott, I just have to say, I’ll take those concerns seriously if you also express concerns about the allegations [against Trump]. He’s been found liable of rape, Donald Trump has. So that’s also true, so we’re not going to litigate those other things, but you can’t just pick and choose.”
