MSNBC’s Jason Johnson Blasts Liberals Alleging Voter Fraud: ‘There Is No Evidence That Any of That Is True Whatsoever’
MSNBC political contributor Dr. Jason Johnson called out liberal conspiracy theorists for alleging voter fraud in the 2024 election on Monday, debunking claims that billionaire Elon Musk managed to rig voting machines in President-elect Donald Trump’s favor.
“Since 2020, we’e seen election denialism become part of the Republican Party’s brand, led by Trump himself, who was pushing baseless claims of cheating in this past election right up until he was projected to be the winner,” said Johnson on The ReidOut. “But now, nearly two weeks out, conspiracies about the results are still running rampant, except this time, we’re seeing it on the other side of the aisle, with some on the left questioning the validity of the results.”
He explained:
At the center of these allegations is Elon Musk and his Starlink satellite internet provider that skeptics think was somehow connected to voting machines and rigged the outcome in Trump’s favor. Now, there is no evidence that any of that is true whatsoever. Not to mention, voting machines are not connected to the internet during the election process. But that hasn’t stopped these false claims from spreading like wildfire on social media, garnering tens of millions of views on places like TikTok and X and Twitter, which proves that neither side of the political spectrum is immune to election misinformation.
Johnson revealed that he had “been personally inundated with worried friends and relatives” who had asked him about conspiracy theories on Musk rigging the election, among other concerns.
While several news outlets debunked the conspiracy theory – with Politifact rating the claims about Musk and Starlink “Pants on Fire!” – it has continued to spread on social media, according to the Center for an Informed Public.
