‘Libs of TikTok’ Owner Boastfully Poses with Article Detailing Bomb Threats She Allegedly Inspired

“Libs of TikTok” owner Chaya Raichik received mixed reactions on Monday after she took a grinning photo with an article that alleged her account had inspired bomb threats.

“Today’s front cover of @USATODAY!” tweeted Raichik, along with a photo of her holding the newspaper’s front cover headline, “When Libs of TikTok posts, threats increasingly follow.”

Raichik also changed her cover photo to a series of bombs emblazoned with the Libs of TikTok logo and announced that she would be framing the newspaper article in her office.

In the articleUSA Today national correspondent Will Carless reported that “at least two dozen public schools and libraries” received bomb threats just days after Libs of TikTok called them out online for hosting drag queen performances and story hours for children.

“In California, Colorado, Oklahoma and Wisconsin, they cancel classes and evacuate students,” wrote Carless, who reported that hospitals and medical clinics also received similar threats:

In almost every case, the perpetrator of the threat is unknown, and Chaya Raichik, the far-right influencer who runs Libs of TikTok, says she opposes violence, and that because there have been almost no arrests, there’s no proof the threats come from her followers.

But whoever is making the threats, the posts show a clear pattern. USA TODAY has confirmed dozens of bomb threats, death threats and other harassment after Libs of TikTok’s posts since February 2022, based on exclusive new research from the progressive analysis group Media Matters for America.

Raichik’s grinning photo with the headline received both support and condemnation on social media.

“About as despicable as it gets,” reacted NBC News senior reporter Ben Collins, while journalist Benjamin Ryan tweeted, “When shown that threats of violence frequently follow in the wake of her public statements, @ChayaRaichik10 has made abundantly clear that she is proud of her impact on society.”

Billionaire Twitter owner Elon Musk, meanwhile, responded, “Congratulations! 😂” while former Trump adviser Steve Cortes wrote, “Bravo! Wear the scorn of the corporate media as a badge of honor…”

In a video response to USA Today, Raichik rejected the claims of the article, calling it “an insane hitpiece.” Raichik said she “denounced violence and called for law enforcement to take action about these bomb threats, not once, not twice, not three times, but a total of fourteen times.”
