Jimmy Kimmel Pins Kamala Harris’ Low Approval Ratings on ‘Sexism and Racism’
Jimmy Kimmel addressed Vice President Kamala Harris’ approval rating on Tuesday night, attributing the low number on “sexism and racism.”
The host first cracked that according to a survey published Sunday by USA Today, President Joe Biden’s approval rating is “even lower than his testicles.”
The survey actually reported that Biden’s approval rating has fallen to 38 percent, while only 28 percent of those surveyed approve of Harris.
“Kamala Harris has an approval rating of 28 percent, which makes no sense because she basically has nothing to do,” the host said on Tuesday’s Jimmy Kimmel Live. “I mean, it’s like criticizing a backup quarterback: ‘Tom Brady is OK — I don’t love the way Blaine Gabbert has his legs folded on the bench.’”
Kimmel went on to note that the vice president’s approval rating has fallen even lower than the 30 percent who approved of Dick Cheney in 2008 “after he shot a guy in the face.”
He then cracked that people are failing to consider that “at least 10 percent of those polled approved of Dick Cheney because he shot a guy in the face.”
“I think I know why Kamala’s ratings are low, besides sexism and racism, which are the obvious ones,” Kimmel added. “It’s because whenever she’s next to Joe, standing near him or behind him, she looks like an assassin. She looks like Nebula next to Thanos … especially with a mask.”
Some took issue with Kimmel’s reasoning, Glenn Greenwald questioning if “racism and sexism” were also the reason “Kamala had to cease her presidential campaign before the first vote was cast in the Democratic primary.”

“The Pope of Late Night weighs in. Funny way to talk about all the Democratic and Independent voters who feel the VP is doing a poor job on things like the border and communication in general,” added The Hill’s Joe Concha. “Because when you’re at 28% approval, it’s much more than just one side of the aisle.”
