Justin Trudeau Blasts Canadian Conservatives For Appealing to ‘Putin Apologist’ Tucker Carlson

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau blasted members of the Canadian Conservative Party for appealing to fired Fox News host Tucker Carlson, who Trudeau blasted as a “Putin apologist.”

Carlson has been on a recent tour of Canada giving speeches across the country to crowds in Alberta, Calgary, and Edmonton. At the events, Carlson dragged Trudeau for his policies on crime, gun control, and assisted suicide.

In a video message released on X, formerly known as Twitter, Carlson contacted Trudeau’s office on the phone, leaving a voicemail where he said, “We are coming to liberate Canada, and we’ll be there soon.”

On Thursday, Trudeau briefly responded to Carlson’s antics during his opening remarks at the Liberal caucus winter retreat. The prime minister accused Opposition Leader Pierre Poilievre and members of his party of choosing to appease Carlson over supporting Ukraine.

“My very first call this year was with Volodymyr Zelensky. Who wanted to know that Canada still stood with him, that Canadians still stood with him. And I told him, yes, we do. The Canadian government and most of the parties in the House will continue to stand with him,” said Trudeau.

Watch his remarks below:

“Pierre Poilievre and his Conservatives chose to vote against support for Ukraine, calling it a faraway foreign land to appease Putin apologists, like Tucker Carlson and those who enable him,” he added.

Recently, the Canadian Conservatives voted against updates to a Canada-Ukraine free-trade deal that would have provided further economic assistance to the war-torn country amid the Russian invasion.
