Theo Von Praised By Far-Right For Telling Joe Rogan Jews Control Liberal Media: ‘Why Do They Hate White Guys?’
Popular comedian and podcaster Theo Von joined Joe Rogan last week to discuss the presidential election and won praise from some of the more controversial fringe online for comments he made about Jews controlling the media. Rogan and Von both interviewed President-elect Donald Trump during the 2024 campaign and are part of the so-called “bro” podcast movement credited with helping Trump win the election.
“I don’t understand why left-leaning media, which is mostly Jewish, are calling people white supremacists,” Von said at one point during the nearly three-and-a-half-hour-long discussion.
“Dude, did you say that?” Rogan hit back in a satirical tone.
“Yeah, I just don’t understand,” replied Von.
“Left-wing media is mostly Jewish,” added Rogan, again in a mocking tone.
“I mean, according to my Jewish friends, it is, you know? But why do they hate white guys?” Von replied as Rogan broke out laughing.
“It’s just woke things, man. It’s just virtue woke bullshit,” Rogan replied.
Notorious white nationalist Andrew Torba shared the clip on X, formerly Twitter, and wrote, “Incredible things are happening.” Torba, the founder and CEO of Gab, has long been known for promoting the far-right of American politics and has associations with self-avowed neo-Nazis like Nick Fuentes, who has hosted Torba at his annual conference.
Gab made headlines in 2018 after it was revealed that the shooter who carried out the Tree of Life synagogue massacre that year was an active user on the platform, where he attacked Jews. “Because of the platform’s lax policies around content moderation, Gab quickly became known as a platform used by conspiracy theorists, white nationalists, neo-Nazis, members of militias, and influential figures among the alt-right,” wrote the Anti-Defamation League about Gab.
Another user on X replied to Torba, writing, “Right wing media is mostly Jewish too.” Torba replied, “Yup.” Torba’s post received over 1.6 million views and 27 thousand likes over the weekend with many people praising Von for pushing the anti-Semitic claiming that Jews control the media.
Von has also raised some eyebrows in the past for his associations with white supremacists. Von recalled to Rogan years ago that he used to work out with former KKK leader David Duke. While Von made clear he did not subscribe to Duke’s racist beliefs, he said, “He honestly seemed like a nice guy.”
