UFC President Dana White Reveals How He Responded to Sponsor Asking Him to Take Down a Pro-Trump Video: ‘Go F*ck Yourself’
UFC president Dana White recently revealed that a major sponsor once asked him to delete a video he posted endorsing former President Donald Trump.
Naturally, White was blunt in his response to the idea.
On Tuesday’s episode of This Past Weekend w/ Theo Von, White and the comedian discussed the challenges of dealing with sponsors while expressing their personal views. Von even said that after releasing an episode with Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., multiple advertisers reached out and stated their outright refusal to promote the episode. They also asked him to take the video down.
That’s when White shared a similar experience.
“I posted a video for Trump on my personal social media,” White said, “and one of our big sponsors called and said, ‘Take that down.’ You know what I said? ‘Go fuck yourself.’
“You vote for whoever you wanna vote for, and I’ll vote for whoever I wanna vote for. That’s how this works. I don’t even care who you’re voting for. It’s none of my fucking business. Fuck you. Don’t ever fucking call me and tell me who to vote for.”
White has considered Trump a friend for years now and even endorsed him in 2016. Trump is also a regular at major UFC events, most recently attending UFC 295 despite receiving a less-than-warm welcome from the crowd.
