Georgia Reporter Tells MSNBC Fani Willis’ ‘Reputation Is Damaged’ After Being Disqualified From Trump Case: ‘This Was All Of Her Own Doing’

Atlanta Journal-Constitution reporter Greg Bluestein told MSNBC that Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’ reputation “is damaged” following her disqualification from Trump’s criminal case.

On Thursday morning, a Georgia court of appeals ruled that Willis along with her assistant DAs working for her office have “no authority to proceed” prosecuting President-elect Donald Trump in his election interference case. However, the court did not throw out the entire criminal indictment against Trump.

Trump and some of his co-defendants argued Willis should be removed because of a romantic relationship she had with former special prosecutor on the case, Nathan Wade. The president-elect’s legal team claimed Willis benefitted financially from hiring Willis for the case.

When asked by MSNBC anchor Ana Cabrera, Bluestein claimed the dismissal from the case will damage her reputation — adding that it “was all of her own doing.”

Yeah, well, she just won reelection, so she does have another four years in office. There was a Republican challenger who tried to make this case a big part of her argument. That funny? Well, it should be unseated. That’s true. The Fulton County is one of the biggest Democratic strongholds in Georgia. So there was no surprise that money was when reelection. But her reputation is damaged. Right. This was an unforced error, as we said earlier. And, you know, this was all of her undoing. And now it unravels or it might unravel. You know, one of the signature cases, not just of her career, but in Georgia. So it leaves her damaged. And and it’ll be interesting to see what case she tries to make when she does when she is expected to appeal this to the Georgia Supreme Court.
