Veteran Fox News host Sean Hannity will host the 2024 Fox Nation Patriot Awards on December 5th, replacing Pete Hegseth who has been tapped by President-elect Donald Trump to join his cabinet as defense secretary.
The sixth annual Patriot Awards will “honor and recognize America’s finest patriots, including military veterans, first responders and other inspirational everyday heroes,” according to Fox.
Hannity will be joined by other Fox News hosts like Will Cain, Rachel Campos-Duffy, Steve Doocy, Ainsley Earhardt, Harris Faulkner, Bill Hemmer, Laura Ingraham, Brian Kilmeade, Martha MacCallum, Dana Perino, Judge Jeanine Pirro, Jesse Watters, and many others during the event, which will take place in Brookville, New York. Hannity, a Long Island native, holds the record for helming the longest-running cable news program and continues to dominate his time slot in the ratings over CNN and MSNBC.
Mediaite’s Colby Hall wrote about the 2023 Patriot Awards and called it the ultimate event for Fox News “superfans.” Hall added:
Hosted by a western-themed tuxedoed Pete Hegseth, the Patriots Awards accomplishes a
few things. Primarily, it provides a unique tentpole event to drive subscribers to the Fox streaming app Fox Nation, which was widely mocked when it launched five years ago but looks like a prescient and savvy move with every passing year. A year ago, it had a reported 1.5 million subscribers, and last night’s event had the highest viewership of any show of 2023 on a singular day, according to Fox News.
Fox News Media has found unrivaled success with Fox Nation as a streaming service complement to its on-air content. This weekend, the streamer will premiere a new show from Academy Award-winning director Martin Scorsese called The Saints.
