‘You’re a Jerk!’ Morning Joe Crew Lashes Out at Trump After ‘B-Word’ Attack On Nancy Pelosi
MSNBC’s Morning Joe crew lashed out at former President Donald Trump for his attack on Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi, calling her a “sick” and “crazy” before stopping short of calling out the word “bitch” as rally crowds cheered.
The former president was speaking on Monday night at a campaign rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he insulted Pelosi again during his two hour speech.
Speaking of the Democrat, who said Trump was suffering “cognitive degeneration” in a recent CNN interview, the Republican nominee said: “A crazy, horrible human being, Nancy Pelosi, who cheats like hell. She’s a crooked person. She’s a bad person. Evil. She’s an evil, sick, crazy — oh no. It starts with a B, but I won’t say it.”
On Tuesday’s Morning Joe, the team reflected on that remark and others, running the clip alongside some from Vice President Kamala Harris’s rally in Philadelphia.
Co-host Willie Geist noted: “Same contrast we’ve been showing on this show for what, I don’t know, two years, four years since he jumped back in and decided he was going to run again. Another thing to look at there was the enthusiasm. The crowd at Kamala Harris’s rallies were large, they were enthusiastic. Donald Trump in smaller houses, people shuffling out at hour two of the speech. These are things anecdotally, that give you a feel on this election day.”
Host Mika Brzezinski jumped in: “…a feel for who he is. About to use the b-word for Kamala Harris, kind of playing with that. Or for Nancy Pelosi. Also, you know, in the past couple of day, it’s really hard not to forget the vulgar gesture that he made.”
She continued: “I just don’t see women going in and voting for that. I see women voting for women across America now who have struggled and died at the hands of Donald Trump’s abortion ban, because of the lack of access to health care, the health care he denied them. I see them voting for their daughters, voting for their sisters.”
“And men, as well, who really get it,” co-host Joe Scarborough said. “I don’t see them voting for this man. I don’t know. We’ll see what happens.”
Contributor Claire McCaskill added: “It’s nuts… They spend most of their time offending women voters. Keep in mind who they have to get to the polls to win… [it hurts] the reliability of women in this election [to turn up for Trump], when every day, they say something that women go: ‘No, no. You’re a jerk. I’m not voting for you, you’re a jerk.’”
