‘ARE YOU F*CKING KIDDING ME?!’ Jon Stewart Reacts to Vivek Ramaswamy Calling Trump a ‘Truth Teller’ With Stunning Montage of Lies
The Daily Show host Jon Stewart exploded in expletive-laden disbelief at former Republican Vivek Ramaswamy’s claim that former President Donald Trump is a “truth teller” and accused Republicans of creating a “bizarro Trump” — a fictionalized version of their candidate.
In a scathing opening monologue to Monday’s show that first took aim at the media, the comedian argued that Trump’s loyal base has built a myth around the former president, portraying him as a “truth-teller” and policy expert.
Running back clips of surrogates like Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) and Rep. Carlos A. Giménez (R-FL) praising Trump, Stewart rounded off with the snippet from Ramaswamy.
“Are you fucking kidding me right now?!” the host screamed in reaction, as the audience laughed.
He added: “Trump is a truth-teller?”
Stewart cut to the clip from the ABC-hosted presidential debate where Trump repeated false claims that migrants were eating people’s pets in Ohio.
He continued: “So we find ourselves not in a dilemma but in a bit of conundrum. The qualities and policies that people profess to be what they admire and love about former President Trump don’t seem to be an accurate reflection of said former president.”
He added: “It’s as if they’ve created a fictional character. A bizarro Trump, whose accomplishments and character bear little resemblance to the self-aggrandizing perpetual victim guy he continues to tell you explicitly that he is.”
