Former Republican Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) made clear on Friday that he has “absolutely no fear” of Donald Trump returning to power.

“Can I be clear about something?” wrote Kinzinger on Threads, adding:

I have absolutely no fear of Trump. Honest to God
This narrative that his opponents are intimidated is what MAGA wants to believe. No, we are REINVIGORATED

He also wrote earlier in the day, “Just a reminder, Trump himself is weak and scared. Don’t be intimidated, I’m absolutely not, and you shouldn’t be either. The online flying monkeys are just as weak. We will just be ready to pick up the pieces.”

Kinzinger, who joined CNN as a contributor in 2023, served on the House January 6th Committee and has become a fierce critic of Trump, which has resulted in death threats against him and his family. The Air Force veteran has been a regular target of Trump’s attacks, including claiming he should be put in jail for his actions on the committee. In March 2024, Trump posted to his Truth Social platform that former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) “should go to Jail along with the rest of the Unselect Committee!”

NPR put together a list of all the people Trump has threatened over the years, including writing, “ELIZABETH LYNNE CHENEY IS GUILTY OF TREASON. RETRUTH IF YOU WANT TELEVISED MILITARY TRIBUNALS.”

NPR documented over 100 threats and reported, “Among the other targets of Trump’s threats are former President Barack Obama (“RETRUTH IF YOU WANT PUBLIC MILITARY TRIBUNALS”), members of the U.S. Capitol Police who defended the Capitol during the Jan. 6, 2021, riot (“The cops should be charged and the protesters should be freed”), members of the Jan. 6 Select Committee in Congress (“They should be prosecuted for their lies and, quite frankly, TREASON!”), Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg (“We are watching him closely, and if he does anything illegal this time he will spend the rest of his life in prison”), people who criticize the Supreme Court (“These people should be put in jail, the way they talk about our judges and our justices”) and protesters who burn the American flag (“You should get a one-year jail sentence if you desecrate the American flag”).”
