Trump Campaign’s Jason Miller Rejects Attacks on Secret Service Agents: ‘There Shouldn’t Be Any Criticism’
Trump campaign senior advisor Jason Miller rejected criticism of the Secret Service agents on Donald Trump’s detail following an assassination attempt over the weekend.
Miller joined Kasie Hunt on CNN This Morning on Wednesday and praised the former president’s security. Trump was struck in the ear at a Pennsylvania rally on Saturday. A rally goer was also fatally shot and two others injured.
“There has been some recent criticism on the right of the Secret Service agents that swarmed President Trump, some people noting that there were a lot of women Secret Service agents on his personal detail and calling into question whether or not they were up to the job,” Hunt noted at the end of her Miller interview.
She then played a clip of Eric Trump on CNN defending his father’s security detail, noting one of the females was on his detail previously and would have taken a bullet for him.
“One of the females on the stage, she’s with me for three years. I know every thing about her. She would take a bullet for me, she would take a bullet for him, as courageous as they come. Same with everybody else who is around him — the head of his detail was on that stage,” Eric Trump said.
Miller echoed this sentiment and said the former president has expressed similar gratitude both publicly and privately following the shooting.
“Everyone who is a part of his detail, they’d put their life on the line anytime for anyone to protect and there shouldn’t be any criticism,” he said. “You saw the way pounced literally on top of President Trump literally in seconds, putting their own bodies in the way. You can’t criticize people for that.”
