‘Oh My God!’ Morning Joe FLOORED By Eric Trump’s Tone-Deaf Memorial Day Social Media Post
MSNBC’s Morning Joe was so shocked by a Memorial Day social media post from Eric Trump, the son of former President Donald Trump, that they were left nearly speechless.
Co-host Willie Geist reminded viewers on Tuesday that the ex-president has little regard for the solemn holiday of Memorial Day (and the men and women who lost their lives while serving their country), citing his Truth Social post on Monday that railed against his court cases. But it was a post by the younger Trump that was especially egregious to the co-hosts:
Geist: And it wasn’t just former President Trump. It was his son Eric, getting some well-deserved backlash over his social media posts after one user posted a photo of the Trump family with the caption, “The family that gave up everything to save America. Thank you!”
Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski: Oh my gosh, no.
Scarborough: Oh my God!
Geist: This is over Memorial Day weekend. Eric Trump reposted, writing “And we will do it again!”
Scarborough: Oh, my Lord.
That post by Eric Trump, originally posted on Friday, is still up, even after Geist reported that he posted then deleted a promotion of a Memorial Day sale at the Trump store.
Last year on Memorial Day, Donald Trump portrayed himself as someone “WHO GAVE THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE FOR THE COUNTRY THEY LOVE, AND TO THOSE IN LINE OF A VERY DIFFERENT, BUT EQUALLY DANGEROUS FIRE, STOPPING THE THREATS OF THE TERRORISTS, MISFITS AND LUNATIC THUGS WHO ARE WORKING FEVERISHLY FROM WITHIN TO OVERTURN AND DESTROY OUR ONCE GREAT COUNTRY, WHICH HAS NEVER BEEN IN GREATER PERIL THAN IT IS RIGHT NOW.”
