Liz Cheney Utterly Destroys RNC Chair McDaniel for Staying Silent on Trump’s ‘Nazi Propaganda’: ‘Fair to Assume She’s Collaborating’
Former U.S. Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) roundly condemned Republican National Committee Chair Ronna McDaniel for failing to condemn Donald Trump‘s descent into rhetoric many critics likened to that of Adolf Hitler.
Cheney voted to impeach Trump in January 2021 and famously co-chaired the House Jan. 6 committee that investigated the Capitol insurrection. Her refusal to toe the GOP party line cost her Wyoming’s Republican primary in 2022.
Cheney tweeted Monday, “When @GOPChairwoman refuses to condemn the GOP’s leading candidate for using the same Nazi propaganda that mobilized 1930s-40s Germany to evil, it’s fair to assume she’s collaborating. History will judge Ronna McDaniel and every Republican who is appeasing this dangerous man.”
McDaniel appeared on NBC News’ Meet The Press Sunday, where she was confronted with Trump’s dehumanizing rhetoric by anchor Kristen Welker.
“He says, quote, ‘In honor of our great veterans on Veterans Day, we pledge to you that we will root out the communists, Marxists, fascists, and radical left thugs that live like vermin within the confines of our country, lie, steal, and cheat on our elections and will do anything, whether legally or illegally, to destroy America,” Welker read. “Are you comfortable with this language coming from the GOP frontrunner?”
“Again, I am not going to comment on candidates and their campaign messaging,” McDaniel answered. “I will say this: I know President Trump supports the veterans, our whole party supports our veterans, and I do think we’re at a very serious moment in our country.”
Trump made the “incendiary and dehumanizing” comments Saturday at a Veterans Day address in Claremont, N.H., and posted the highlights to Truth Social.
When asked about Trump’s venomous rant that a wide range of journalists and political pundits condemned on social media for echoing Nazi propaganda, campaign spokesman Steven Cheung told The Washington Post, “those who try to make that ridiculous assertion are clearly snowflakes grasping for anything because they are suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome and their entire existence will be crushed when President Trump returns to the White House.”
