Podcaster and Comedian Andrew Schulz Accuses Ben Shapiro of Making ‘the Argument for Censorship’ with Candace Owens Firing

Comedian and podcaster Andrew Schulz laid into Ben Shapiro in a blistering rant following Shapiro’s Daily Wire parting ways with Candace Owens.

Daily Wire co-founder Jeremy Boreing announced that Daily Wire and Owens ended their relationship late last month. This followed Owens and her bosses openly feuding as she was vocally critical of Israel’s military operations in Gaza and faced accusations of anti-semitism.

On the latest episode of his Flagrant podcast, Schulz accused Shapiro of arguing for censorship in his defense of getting rid of Owens. In a previous interview with Megyn Kelly, Shapiro said Daily Wire is a “publisher” and not a “platform.” He also claimed Owens leaving was “not about Israel specifically.” Owens was out at the Daily Wire days after endorsing a wild anti-Semitic screed about a Rabbi “being drunk on Christian blood.”

“He’s acting as if this is a justified reason for firing people when you built your identity and platform off of no censorship and freedom of speech, facts don’t care about your feelings, and all this shit,” Schulz told co-host Akaash Singh.

Singh questioned whether Shapiro’s personal political views are the standard of what can and can’t be published at Daily Wire.

“So, is the Daily Wire an American media platform, or is it an Israeli media platform? I’m just asking,” Schulz said.

The comedian then blasted Shapiro, accusing him of refusing to criticize Israel while he criticizes the United States daily.

“I’m just saying if the rule is you cannot be critical [of Israel] because he has no problem being critical of America — he’s critical of the left in America. The left is half the country. You have no problem eviscerating half the country, but you can’t criticize Israel as a country?” Schulz said, concluding:

That’s just another country. Unless you’re saying, and you’re clearly admitting that the Daily Wire is an arm of the Israeli, I guess, media or propaganda machine? Is that — are you manipulating the religious right in America? Are you manipulating the right wing conservatives in America and selling them country western movies and putting on your little cowboy hat and fake moving to Nashville so that you could take all their money and then in the process restricting free speech, one of the core tenets of the American identity? Ben. Ben! What is happening? There is trouble in paradise.
