Elon Musk Trying to Get Disney Chief Bob Iger Fired After DealBook Disaster

Billionaire Elon Musk is trying to get Disney CEO Bob Iger fired after his company suspended advertising on X, formerly known as Twitter, because Musk endorsed an anti-Semitic post.

Back in November, the Tesla CEO appeared to agree with an anti-Semtic post on X that stated, “pushing the exact kind of dialectical hatred against whites that they claim to want people to stop using against them.” Musk responded by writing, “You have said the actual truth.”

His comment sparked a large advertising boycott against the platform which led to Musk later apologizing at The New York Times’ DealBook Summit. During the interview, he admitted it was “one of the most foolish if not the most foolish.”

However, Musk then went on in the same interview to call out advertisers, including Iger, for joining the boycott, accusing them of blackmail designed to “kill the company.” On Thursday, Musk ramped up his attacks on Iger by citing a CNBC news report concerning a lawsuit from the New Mexico attorney general’s office against Meta platform over enabling child sex abuse.

Musk slammed Iger for choosing to advertise with his competitor claiming, “Bob [Iger] thinks it’s cool to advertise next to child exploitation material. Real stand up guy.”

“He should be fired immediately. Walt Disney is turning in his grave over what Bob has done to his company,” Musk noted in a follow-up post.

X is expected to lose approximately $75 million in revenue from advertising by end of December, according to internal documents obtained by the New York Times.
