CNN’s Acosta Fires Back at Sarah Sanders: ‘A Bit Much’ for Her to Use Roseanne to ‘Shame the Media’
CNN’s Jim Acosta fired back at Sarah Huckabee Sanders after she used the Roseanne Barr controversy to continue President Trump‘s personal complaints about Disney CEO Bob Iger.
The President’s first response to Barr’s show being cancelled over her racist tweet was to tweet, “Bob Iger of ABC called Valerie Jarrett to let her know that “ABC does not tolerate comments like those” made by Roseanne Barr. Gee, he never called President Donald J. Trump to apologize for the HORRIBLE statements made and said about me on ABC. Maybe I just didn’t get the call?”
Tweeting that would be one thing, but the White House Press Secretary kept it going at the briefing, citing examples like Joy Behar and Keith Olbermann and asking why Trump never got apologies for what they said.
Acosta tried asking at the end of the briefing about the apologies Trump himself owes a lot of people.
On-air minutes later, Acosta brought up examples of what Trump has to apologize for before saying, “It’s a bit much, I think, for the White House press secretary from the podium to come out here and try to shame the media and say it’s somehow our fault that Roseanne Barr put out this tweet.”
He also brought up how just yesterday, Huckabee Sanders said Trump has more important things to do than weigh in on this issue. And yet.
Huckabee Sanders said at the briefing that Barr’s tweet is indefensible, but said there’s a double standard going on.
