Rand Paul Says He’s Sent ‘2000 Pages’ Of Waste To DOGE As He Raises Alarm About ‘Ice Skating Drag Queens’ and ‘Taxpayer-Funded Magic’
Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) told Fox News’ Sean Hannity that he’s been consulting “weekly” with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) as he raised alarm about tax money going to “ice skating drag queens” and “magic.”
Paul joined Hannity on Friday to preview his annual Festivus report, which highlights what the senator deems wasteful government spending and grants. The report releases on Dec. 23 and Paul teased some of what will be in the new report by informing Hannity that government has been dropping coin on “ice skating drag queens” and “taxpayer-funded magic.”
“We will talk about electric charging stations, electric cars, but we’ll also be talking about government funding for ice skating drag queens. We’ll be talking about taxpayer funded magic,” Paul said.
“Slow down,” a shocked Hannity said. “Let me stop you there. Ice skating — Alright, how much money are we spending on the ice skating drag queens?”
“I can tell you the total will be in the hundreds of billions for the entire Festivus report,” Paul said. “I don’t have the breakdown on each individual one, but I can tell you that there are millions of dollars being spent on magic. I can tell you that. Also going to be some money for the southern border, but not the southern border of the United States, for the southern border of Paraguay.”
As Paul noted, much of the spending highlighted in his reports is through grants from the federal government for things like studies from the National Science Foundation. Paul argued out of control government spending is a “bipartisan issue” and both major parties are guilty.
The senator revealed later in the interview that he’s sent “2,000 pages” highlight government waste to Vivek Ramaswamy, who, along with Elon Musk, will be fronting DOGE, a consulting group that President-elect Donald Trump will be using to find what he’s promised will be massive cuts in federal spending.
“I’m helping Doge. I talk to Vivek weekly,” he said. “I’ve sent him 2000 pages of waste that we’ve already discovered.”
