UFC head and Trump ally Dana White announced on Monday that he had joined Facebook parent company Meta’s board of directors amid Mark Zuckerberg’s ongoing push to court President-elect Donald Trump.

“I’ve never been interested in joining a board of directors until I got the offer to join Meta’s board,” said White in a statement. “I am a huge believer that social media and AI are the future.”

He continued, “I am very excited to join this incredible team and to learn more about this business from the inside. There is nothing I love more than building brands, and I look forward to helping take Meta to the next level.”

In his own statement, Zuckerberg announced that he was “excited” about White’s addition to the board.

“Dana is the President and CEO of UFC, and he has built it into one of the most valuable, fastest growing, and most popular sports enterprises in the world,” he said. “I’ve admired him as an entrepreneur and his ability to build such a beloved brand.”

White – a long-time ally of Trump – endorsed the president-elect in 2016, 2020, and 2024, and was also by Trump’s side during his 2024 presidential election victory speech.

Zuckerberg, meanwhile, has attempted to align himself with the president-elect in recent months, donating $1 million to Trump’s inauguration and hiring former Bush White House deputy chief of staff Joel Kaplan.
