‘A Villain!’ Fox Hosts Slam Biden ‘Selling’ Medal of Freedom to George Soros for a ‘Couple Hundred Million Dollars’
President Joe Biden on Saturday handed out a slew of awards to recipients across a wide spectrum, including actors Denzel Washington and Michael J. Fox, NBA legend Earvin “Magic” Johnson, scientist Jane Goodall, and 14 other big names. But it was two of those others who really generated outrage over the weekend.
The Presidential Medal of Freedom is considered the highest official civilian honor handed out by the United States, and the awarding of those medals on Saturday marked what will be Biden’s final ceremony as President before Donald Trump takes office this month.
Among the people honored at the auspicious occasion were former Secretary of State and former First Lady Hillary Clinton, and billionaire Democratic donor and progressive activist George Soros, whom many in the media chose to describe as a “philanthropist” throughout the weekend – something to which many on the right took strong exception.
Former Governor and ambassador Nikki Haley, who ran against Trump in the Republican primary last year, conversely described Soros as a reason she can’t wait for the president-elect to take office.
And on Fox & Friends Sunday, hosts Guy Benson, Rachel Campos-Duffy, and Charlie Hurt had equally disparaging commentary about Soros – not to mention Biden awarding medals to Clinton and Robert F. Kennedy Sr.
“George Soros is a villain. Let’s be very clear,” said Campos-Duffy in the segment. “Another bad person who got it? You know, Hillary Clinton.”
“I would say destroying freedom gets you the Freedom Award, I guess,” she said.
Hurt mentioned that several of the recipients were deserving, including Washington, Fox, and billionaire philanthropist David Rubenstein. But, he said, Biden cheapened their award by including the undeserving.
“The idea that you would give the award to those people, such deserving people, and then you would immediately cheapen the value of the award by giving it to these people who don’t deserve it,” he said.
“And then, oh, and then sell one for a couple hundred million dollars to George Soros,” Hurt added with contempt.
He then argued that the only reason for Biden to make a posthumous award to Robert Kennedy Senior was a slight to RFK Jr., for having sided with Trump.
