‘Girl That Shooter Hot!’ SNL’s Weekend Update Lampoons CEO Murder Discourse

Saturday Night Live’s Weekend Update took a jab at some Americans’ reactions to the cold-blooded assassination of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in Manhattan this week.

Police have released several photos of the alleged shooter, including one where he appears to flirt with a hostel worker.

“It really says something about America that a guy was murdered in cold blood and the two main reactions were, ‘Yeah, well, health care stinks,’ and also, ‘Girl, that shooter hot!'” quipped co-host Colin Jost.

Michael Che then jumped in, saying, “New York City Police say they were able to get the smiling picture of the suspect after the man apparently was caught on camera flirting with a female employee at a local hostel whose name has been reported as, Lucky S. Bechalive.”

Earlier, the co-hosts poked fun at the New York City Police, who were unable to apprehend the man when he was still believed to be in the city.

“This week, New York City officials sent a tough message on crime,” Jost began. “If you shoot somebody in the middle of the street, you better get on a bike, hop on a bus, and get the heck out of here, mister!”

Jost continued, “It’s also so crazy that the shooting happened the blocks from here in broad daylight and the guy just bicycled away. Probably because they have every cop in the city guarding our Christmas tree.

“The NYPD now believes the suspect left the city on a bus on Port Authority. Uh, thanks, but a Port Authority passenger who looks like a murderer actually widens the search,” Jost added.

On Sunday, authorities release new clues in the search for the suspect. They included two new photos of the man getting into a taxi. Police also revealed that the backpack carried by the suspect included just a jacket and some monopoly money.
