The Pacific Palisades wildfire burning through Los Angeles has destroyed the homes of thousands of families including many actors and celebrities.
The fire has forced tens of thousands of residents to evacuate and burned over 1,000 structures and some 17,000 acres. The blaze, which is still not contained, has caused widespread destruction and anger throughout Los Angeles County.
Recently actors Mandy Moore and Billy Crystal have discussed losing their homes to the fire. In a statement released on Wednesday, Crystal and his wife, Janice, revealed they lost their house of 45 years in the Pacific Palisades.
“Janice and I lived in our home since 1979. We raised our children and grandchildren here. Every inch of our house was filled with love. Beautiful memories that can’t be taken away,” Crystal said in a statement. “We are heartbroken of course but with the love of our children and friends we will get through this.”

“Honestly, I’m in shock and feeling numb for all so many have lost, including my family. My children’s school is gone. Our favorite restaurants, leveled,” she told her followers on Instagram. She added that her community would need to be rebuilt while also thanking the first responders.
According to the Associated Press, Adam Sandler, Ben Affleck, Tom Hanks, Paris Hilton, and Steven Spielberg have also had their homes affected by the fire, with some waiting still to hear if they caught fire or not. Jamie Lee Curtis became emotional on a Wednesday episode on The Tonight Show while discussing the “catastrophe” of the Palisades Fire near her California home.
“It’s just a catastrophe,” she said holding back tears. “Obviously there have been horrific fires in many places. This is where I live.” The AP reported on other actor’s reactions:
