Justin Baldoni’s Lawyer Threatens to Sue Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds ‘Into Oblivion’ in Scorched Earth Megyn Kelly Interview
Bryan Freedman, the lawyer representing actor Justin Baldoni in his legal battle against actress Blake Lively, promised to sue Lively “into oblivion” during a scorching interview with Megyn Kelly.
Freedman joined Kelly — whom he also represents — on her show Tuesday to discuss Lively’s lawsuit against Baldoni and his client’s lawsuit against The New York Times, as well as an impending countersuit targeting Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds.
Lively filed a complaint with the California Civil Rights Department against Baldoni last month for his alleged misconduct — including inappropriate sexual comments and more — during the filming of It Ends with Us, which Lively and Baldoni starred in and the latter directed.
Since then, Baldoni has filed a lawsuit against The New York Times and Lively has filed an official suit against Baldoni.
After the host and attorney exchanged pleasantries and praise, they dove into the controversy.
Freedman made Baldoni’s intention to file a countersuit clear during his conversation with Kelly.
“Are you going to sue Blake Lively, too?” asked Kelly.
“Into oblivion, Megyn. Wait until you see this lawsuit,” he replied.
“Oh boy. Well, for what?” she followed up.
“I’m just going to tell you, you’re gonna have to wait and see. It’s coming up soon, but it’s all going to be based on evidence. It’s not going to be just a lawsuit, responded Freedman. “It’s going to be the kind of lawsuit that is full of evidence, admissions, documents, which prove exactly what she did and how she bullied her way through the process to take over the movie and used her PR people to try and destroy Justin. And that’s what it’s going to be, you know, essentially about.”
Kelly went on to ask if Reynolds would also be a legal target.
“Ryan Reynolds for sure,” confirmed Freedman, before going on to say that “what Ryan Reynolds, you know, has seemingly done, right, is used his power and influence to not only help Blake Lively take over this movie, but, you know, he’s used it, you know, on Deadpool, and to make fun of Justin Baldoni.”
In another notable moment from the interview, Kelly asked Freedman, “What’s your prediction of where things go from here?”
“My prediction is that this is going to get worse and worse for Blake Lively. And the reason it’s going to get worse and worse is people are going to be more comfortable telling the truth. And what this is about is really the truth,” asserted Freedman. “And she’s put Jamey Heath and Justin Baldoni in this position of being called sexual predators, sexual harassers. They have no choice but to go all the way. So, you know, we’re going to go all the way.”
“And the unique thing, again, in this case is going to be: We’re going to put every single text message out there,” he concluded. “We’re going to put every email out there. We’re going to put every document out there that’s relevant to the case — not something that’s disrespectful or otherwise would embarrass Miss Lively, because that’s not what we want to do — but we want to make sure that people have the facts and people can make their own determinations as to what happened.”
