Trump Gives His ‘Complete & Total Endorsement’ to Embattled Speaker Mike Johnson
President-elect Donald Trump has chimed in on the ongoing drama surrounding Mike Johnson’s re-election effort as Speaker of the House — and it is good news for the embattled Speaker.
Johnson has a razor-thin opening to get the necessary votes from his Republican caucus. Rep. Thomas Massie has already come out as a “no” vote on Speaker Johnson’s reelection bid, which means the Louisiana congressman can ill afford to lose any more votes without risking his position as the second in line to the Presidency. Earlier on Monday morning, Rep. Victoria Spartz was noncommittal in an appearance on Fox & Friends and offered unusually harsh criticism for the Republican House leader.
In this milieu, Trump enters the proverbial ring, flatly insisting that “Mike has my Complete & Total Endorsement. MAGA!!!” though to be fair, his comment is a bit of a journey, filled with his typical bromides and attacks on Al Sharpton and Beyonce. For real:

We ran a flawless campaign, having spent FAR LESS, with lots of money left over. They ran a very expensive “sinking ship,” embracing DOJ & FBI WEAPONIZATION against their political opponent, ME. BUT IT DIDN’T WORK, IT WAS A DISASTER!!! LETS NOT BLOW THIS GREAT OPPORTUNITY WHICH WE HAVE BEEN GIVEN. The American people need IMMEDIATE relief from all of the destructive policies of the last Administration. Speaker Mike Johnson is a good, hard working, religious man. Given that many of the members of the House Republican caucus consider themselves to be Trump loyalists, its difficult to imagine how this message doesn’t go a very long way in ensuring Speaker Johnson gets re-elected.
