Former GOP Rep Ridicules Elon Musk for ‘Strangling’ Free Speech On X: ‘Lay Off The Ketamine’
Former GOP Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) took to Elon Musk’s platform X, formerly Twitter, to ridicule the billionaire for “strangling” free speech by stripping the blue check verification from profiles of MAGA influencers who criticized him.
The far-right’s Laura Loomer, New York Young Republican Club president Gavin Wax, InfoWars host Owen Shroyer, and others found their verification badges had disappeared Friday after they criticized Musk for supporting foreign-born engineers over American workers.
Kinzinger posted, “So @elonmusk stripped the blue check because someone hurt his feelings? Dude lay off the ketamine, talk to a therapist, help the poor, retire, talk to your kids, and grow up. He going to keep strangling this place. If you love him great, but don’t pretend he’s for free speech”.
Musk has detailed his prescription use of ketamine to deal with depression, saying the drug is “helpful for getting one out of the negative frame of mind.”
Shortly after Musk purchased Twitter in 2022, he referred to himself as a “free speech absolutist” and claimed he would do away with some of the platform’s policies that “monitor hate speech, disinformation and online abuse“.
Conservatives have been upset with Musk and his partner at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) Vivek Ramaswamy for publicly supporting foreign H-1B visa holders this week because American culture creates “mediocrity” among its workers.
Former Trump adviser Steve Bannon got into the fray Friday, broadcasting on his War Room program that the battle was “populist, nationalist versus elite globalist.”
“Now, when you say we’re going to work this out, you guys are going to get– [Laura] Loomer is on here. She’s banned. They’re trying to ban Gavin Wax. You’re going to be banned eventually by the ‘free-speech absolutist,’” Bannon said. “The nerds don’t take criticism. They’re kind of, you know, they’re a little bit all on the spectrum, right? They don’t know– they’re not deep in social skills.”
President-elect Donald Trump has yet to weigh in on what’s being called a “MAGA civil war”.
