‘The Terror’: Fox’s Jonathan Hunt Reports He Doesn’t Know if His Daughter’s School Is Still Standing

During a live broadcast on the LA wildfires, Fox News reporter Jonathan Hunt reported he doesn’t know if his daughter’s school is still standing.

Hunt was conducting a report for Fox detailing the devastation caused by the wildfires that have forced residents to evacuate more than 10,000 homes. The raging blazes have also reportedly burned approximately 1,000 acres, causing widespread panic throughout the northern Los Angeles County area.

During the report, Hunt noted that his daughter’s school, Palisades Charter High School, has suffered “significant damage.”

This is Pacific Palisades, a really densely packed residential neighborhood. So these flames have just spread so quickly, dropping down onto the trees. Embers flying from the trees flying onto the roofs of homes, one home after another, as we just showed you, it’s like a domino effect. They just keep going up in flames, up in flames, up in flames. And the firefighters have been doing their best, obviously. But frankly, a big part of this area of Los Angeles is going to be lost. Having been up here this morning. We don’t know any official figures. And there won’t be any final figures for quite a while. But I can tell you, it is going to be hundreds and hundreds of homes, businesses that have lost here. Also, the schools badly affected. My daughter attends Palisades Charter High School, which is just about a mile down the road here. We heard in that press conference that that school has suffered significant damage, just 3000 students who go there. And if it’s significantly damaged, they may be back to remote learning again. We will find out in the next few days.

But so many schools have been displaced here. They’re moving as many students as they can to other schools, but it’s going to be a long slog. And you just imagine, again, the terror that so many families went through. First of all, just trying to get out of a place like this, grab what you can run for your lives, literally get where you can. And there are so few roads in and out of this neighborhood. It was really absolutely chaotic and nothing short of terrifying for everybody trying to get out of here.
