‘Dumbest Take in the History of Sports!’ Fox Sports Host Gets Roasted for Proposing Utterly Bonkers NFL Draft Scenario Involving Deion Sanders

Fox Sports commentator Nick Wright was thoroughly eviscerated online for concocting a truly bizarre NFL draft scenario involving Colorado coach Deion Sanders.

Heading into the final week of the regular season, the New England Patriots held the no. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft. With the belief that the team already has its quarterback of the future in Drake Maye, many felt the Patriots had a great deal of flexibility in terms of what they could do with the pick. Some even predicted that the team could select Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter.

Wright, however, had something more drastic in mind. On Monday’s episode of First Things First, Wright proposed drafting Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders with the first overall pick, trading Maye to acquire the second overall pick and using in on Hunter, and then firing current coach Jerod Mayo to bring in Deion — keeping the faces of Colorado Buffaloes football together in the NFL.

That idea did not go over well online.

“I can’t stress this enough,” said Boston sports account @SavageSports_. “Nick Wright suggesting the Patriots should trade Drake Maye is the dumbest take in the history of sports. Especially To take Shedeur Sanders, who is an inferior quarterback to Drake Maye.”

On First Things First’s own account, the roasts continued.
