LA Mayor Karen Bass Stumbles Through Presser Script Failing To Share Emergency Information Website Address: ‘This Can Be Found At URL’

Los Angeles mayor Karen Bass stumbled through her press conference script to direct city residents in need of emergency shelter or resources to “URL” – failing to read out the website address that provided the information.

Wildfires are intensifying across the region as firefighters struggle to contain three massive blazes, which have already claimed at least five lives. Among the most destructive are the Palisades and Eaton fires, but concerns are mounting over the rapidly expanding Hurst fire and the Sunset fire, which has engulfed parts of the Hollywood Hills, leaving Los Angeles residents on edge.

Footage of Bass standing silent while being furiously interrogated by Sky News journalist David Blevins at LAX, arriving back after a trip to Ghana, was going viral online as the mayor prepared to deliver a press conference and update on the situation.

Yet, reading from a script that seemingly had no actual website address on it, the mayor pointlessly told residents to go to “URL” for help.

Be prepared. Food, water, medicine, a bag packed and ready again, this is an active situation and conserve water to the extent that you can. We want to make sure that we are ready if we need more water. But make no mistake, Los Angeles will rebuild stronger than ever right now.

If you need help, emergency information, resources and shelter is available. All of this can be found at URL.

Rather than turn to her team to clarify the address that could provide the information, the mayor – apparently unaware of the uselessness of her offering – stumbled on to offer a rallying address.

Los Angeles together is how we will get through this, through the heroism of our firefighters, the vigilance of Angelenos, and the spirit of our city. This is a big moment. It is a big moment for all of us to come together, for Angelenos to be united, for angelenos, to be prepared to help each other. This is who we are. L.A. Will rise. And make no mistake, I am confident that we will rebuild.

As the press conference closed, viewers were no further enlightened as to the website, which can be found here: https://lacounty.gov/emergency/
