Fox Sports Host Deletes Past Video Praising Joy Taylor’s Accomplishments — After Stunning Allegations Of His Affair With Her Surface
Fox Sports host Emmanuel Acho deleted a 2022 tweet praising colleague Joy Taylor following allegations that the two had an affair.
Former Fox Sports hairstylist Noushin Faraji filed the lawsuit Friday, accusing multiple big names within the company of sexually harassing her and fostering a toxic workplace environment. In the lawsuit, Faraji also claimed Taylor was engaged in multiple affairs within Fox Sports that resulted in her being selected for multiple TV shows.
One of those alleged affairs involved Acho, who would later be joined by Taylor on the show Speak (formerly known as Speak for Yourself). According to the lawsuit, Faraji first met Acho when she and Taylor agreed to meet for lunch one day in 2020. Faraji said she could tell the two were romantically involved, and Taylor later revealed she was hoping that Acho would recommend her for a spot on Speak.
When these allegations were reported, social media went into a predictable frenzy.
In 2022, Acho posted a video on Twitter praising Taylor for her career accomplishments. With the new context, the clip took on a whole new meaning to some social media users.
“Just got done with rehearsal for the new show Speak,” Acho said in the video recorded in his car, “and I gotta take a moment shout-out my co-host Joy Taylor — a woman, a Black, daily show, sports. Do you all realize how hard it is to get into the position that she is in? So often, there’s misogyny and sexism running rampant in sports, and we don’t even care what women have to say in sports; but Joy is not only in the position on television as a woman, as a Black woman, but as an ‘opinionist.’ So not just asking men what they think, but providing her own unique and distinct insight. It’s hard to do, and Joy, you have done it. So congratulations. Looking forward to working with you, and [I] hope y’all tune in 4:30-6 eastern, every day, starting next week.”
Once that tweet went viral in the aftermath of the report, Acho deleted it. Now, clicking on the link to the tweet simply brings up an error page.
The Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine, however, confirms the tweet was originally posted Sept. 1, 2022.
